Check out a new editorial by the Denver Post on the proposed and denied Snodgrass expansion. The editorial supports the Forest Service's decision to "take population, climate and industry concerns into consideration in its duty to protect public lands." Senator Udall, who has often supported wilderness and other beneficial conservation measures, has asked the Forest Service to review the decision at a higher level. An affirmation of the Forest Service decision at a higher level, particularly one that fleshes out the rationale for the decision, would be an important precedent for the management of public lands in Colorado and around the country. Read more about the Snodgrass decision on the Earthjustice site.
